The Armenian Business Forum took place in Yerevan, Armenia, on the 20th of September, 2021. The event was attended by high-ranking officials of the Government of the Republic of Armenia representatives of the business circles of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The Director of NCIE Hayk Margarian, with the advisor on Innovations Vardan Gevorgyan and the advisor on Entrepreneurship Grachia Margarian, took part in the conference and round table, which began with the “Armenian-Russian economic cooperation perspective projects” panel discussion.
In his speech, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk recognized the deep economic cooperation between Russia and Armenia and expressed confidence that through joint efforts, “Together we can achieve the best results, even surpass them. He added, “We are already seeing positive results in joint trade this year, a little over 17%,”. Moreover, the current results of trade turnover does not satisfy strategic partners, and more needs to be done: “We have a serious potential to increase growth in the areas of joint trade and investment, and most importantly, we have effective tools for cooperation.”
The parties discussed mutually beneficial projects and cooperative solutions with direct business contacts between business community representatives, which will be implemented through joint efforts. Technology Transfer Office of the National Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship showed readiness to share its experience with Technopark Skolkovo LLC and IBDF Center for Commercialization of Innovations.
Within the framework of the event, a “Cooperation Agreement” was signed between the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, the State Development Corporation of the Russian Federation, the Development Corporation of Armenia, and the Investment Corporation.
