Starmus Team in Armenia

On May 10, 2022, NCIE representatives had a meeting with Mr. Garik Israelyan, the Founder of the Starmus Festival, and Mrs. Katerina Danekina, the General Manager of Starmus in Armenia.

NCIE Director, Hayk Margarian, presented to them the structure of our center and our three scopes of activities: The first governmental Technology Transfer Office to help commercialize innovations, technologies, and scientific research connecting scientists and inventors with business, the only governmental Multifunctional Business Support Centre, and the Digital Transformation of the Private Sector to raise digital maturity and compete effectively in a post-pandemic digital economy.

The Armenian-Spanish astrophysicist and scientist is a lecturer and researcher in Utrecht (Netherlands), Brussels (Belgium), and Sydney (Australia). He has published more than 250 scientific articles and has been invited to more than 300 international conferences.

In 2011, Dr. Israelian founded the Starmus Festival, aiming to inspire and educate the next generation of explorers and regenerate the spirit of discovery. He has received many international awards, such as the 2010 Victor Ambartsumian International Prize and the 2014 Canary Islands Gold Medal, the highest recognition awarded to people or companies for efforts that benefit the Canary Islands society.

Dr. Garik and his team are amazed how Armenia, the cradle of civilization striving for peace, is building a sustainable future through difficult times.
