During his visit to Georgia, the CEO of the “National Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship” SNCO, Hayk Margarian, as a member of the Armenian delegation, took part in the 12th Regional Cyber Security and IT Innovation Conference and Award held on December 1-2 at Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace Hotel.
The Conference in Georgia has been held annually since 2008 and has become a flagship IT and Cyber Security event.
The organizers of this conference are the Data Exchange Agency of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and the ICT Business Council. With the motto “Partnerships for Competitiveness, Innovation, and Cyber Security,” the event was attended by the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, and Minister of Justice Rati Bregadze, considered as guests of honor.
The Armenian delegation included representatives of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the Central Bank of Armenia and the Office of Implementation of Electronic Management Infrastructures (“EKENG”).
In his speech, Hayk Margarian presented the activities of the center, with its focus on the most significant project, the first governmental Technology Transfer Office. Second, the newly adopted program of the Government of Armenia, named “Reimbursement of salaries to highly qualified specialists”, focused on attracting highly qualified specialists of different
fields to work in the private and public sectors of The Republic of Armenia, with hopes of increasing the productivity of companies operating in this territory. Third, the business assistance programs that the center implements.
During the two-day working visit to Georgia, Hayk Margarian met with many high-ranking individuals, such as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan, the Primate of the Georgian Diocese of the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church, Archimandrite, Rector, Lord Kirakos Davtyan. As a result of the meetings, an agreement was reached on strengthening and expanding ties between the Armenian community of Georgia and Armenia.
